Biography
Alex Jones is an experienced striker who came through the ranks at West Bromwich Albion before making the switch to Birmingham City at 20 years old. He was sent out to then national league side Grimsby Town to gain first team experience. After impressing for them, he secured a loan move to league one Port Vale where he score 10 times in 21 appearances. During the 2017 transfer window, he joined Bradford City for an undisclosed fee with the Bantam's going onto make the play off final. A serious injury saw him miss out most of the season 2018-19 season followed before joined Cambridge United on loan as he looked to return to full fitness. A move to Scottish championship side Partick Thistle followed but football was curtailed by COVID-19 and he then made the switch to Northampton Town for a short period in 2021. In November of that year, he returned to non league where he was part of Tamworth's 2022-23 title winning side. Unfortunately, injury and illness saw him miss the first half of the 2023-24 season however he would then link up with Leon Broadhurst's Glassboys on two consecutive one month loan spells before making the switch permanent this summer.
