In his three spells to date with the Glassboys Tom has made 144 appearances (122 + 22 sub) and scored 10 times. Now, as per the Bobby Vee lyrics, the 27-year old comes bouncing back to the War Memorial Athletic Ground for a fourth time.
A hard-working central midfield player who has a tremendous long throw in his armoury. Tom had joined Halesowen in March 2013 after previously playing for Brocton and Tipton Town and he enjoyed two excellent full seasons at the Grove. He won the Chairman's Player of the Year award for 2014-15 at Halesowen.
Tom originally joined the Glassboys from Halesowen Town in June 2015 but moved on to AFC Telford in December 2015 before returning in March 2016. In the summer of 2017 he moved up two levels by joining Solihull Moors, but getting limited game-time at Moors, he opted to return to the Stourbridge fold in September 2017.
The 27-year old missed the first half of last season after undergoing ankle surgery, but returned to the Stour side in early December before getting a few games under his belt on dual registration with Walsall Wood. Once back at Stourbridge, he grew frustrated with his limited opportunities amid the stiff competition for midfield places and headed off to Alvechurch in February 2019.
Once fully fit and focussed Tom then won a regular place in the Alvechurch starting line-up and he rounded off the season in good form for the north Worcestershire side, chipping in with three league goals in the final run-in.
