Welcome to @jasoncowley9
The 25 year-old livewire striker first caught the eye with Redditch Borough where his goals helped them to win the Midland Combination Division 3 title in the 2015/16 season. He signed for Redditch United in the summer of 2016 but with his early opportunities limited there he subsequently joined Bromsgrove Sporting on dual registration in September 2016.
The exciting attacker soon became a pivotal player for the Rouslers as he played a significant role in the Worcestershire side winning three promotions in a row with Sporting climbing from the Midland Football League Division One to reach the Southern League Premier Division Central in May 2019.
Jason scored twice as Sporting beat Corby Town 4 - 3 AET in the Southern League Division 1 Central play-off final to seal their place in the third tier of non-league football and took his tally to 107 goals in 127 appearances for the club in doing so.
His goalscoring prowess had not gone unnoticed and shortly afterwards he signed for League 2 outfit Stevenage FC after successful trials. However, the Hertfordshire club had a 2019/20 season to forget, going through four managers before the covid-19 pandemic brought a halt to proceedings in March 2020. Jason netted five goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for Stevenage and he also had a loan stint with Solihull Moors early in 2020 before being released by Stevenage in the summer of 2020.
He initially featured on trial for Hereford FC in September 2020 and scored for the Bulls in their pre-season friendly match here at the War Memorial Athletic Ground which Stourbridge won 2 - 1. He subsequently signed for Macclesfield Town though, only to see the Silkmen wound up a few days later due to outstanding debts to leave him unattached again.
In October 2020 Jason re-joined Bromsgrove Sporting and made a handful of appearances before the Southern League season was halted early in November 2020. At the beginning of 2021 he joined Kidderminster Harriers on loan and he made a favourable impression with the Aggborough club before the National League North campaign also came to a premature end the following month. Jason concluded the 2020/21 season back at Bromsgrove Sporting where he helped the Rouslers win the Red Recruitment Cup competition that also involved their near neighbours Alvechurch and Redditch United.
Stour boss Mark Yates is delighted to have won the race for Jason's services and is looking forward to working with the marksman as he continues to work towards putting a squad that is capable to challenging for honours this season.
