The grant from the Birmingham County FA promotes and rewards green initiatives and sustainability projects. As mentioned above, we have provided sustainable eco-friendly drinks bottles to all players in our disability section.
The expectation is that this will contribute to a more sustainable future by reducing single use plastic bottles and litter waste at training and on matchdays, and less waste going to landfill.
The bottles have been manufactured using planet friendly materials that have been recycled, are reusable and recyclable. They are BPA free to provide a lifetime eco bottle and are suitable for hot or cold drinks.
As well as reducing the carbon footprint of this one section of the football club, it will also help with carbon off-setting, as 50 mangrove trees have been pledged to be planted.
Over the next 25 years these trees will store as much carbon equivalent as 53400 driven miles or 11 flights between London and San Francisco."
