Creative midfielder Alex Moore has rejoined the Glassboys to link up with his former manager Liam McDonald.

The midfielder is no stranger to the War Memorial Athletic Ground having previously spent seven months with us during the 2022/23 season where he made 26 appearances in red and white, scoring five goals along the way.

Affectionately known as Scholesy, Alex spent time at Walsall FC as a youngster before coming through the non league ranks with Wolverhampton Casuals and Shifnal Town before joining Wolverhampton Sporting Community where he was a crucial part of their West Midlands regional League Premier Division title winning side.

He then made the step up to Sutton Coldfield Town at the start of the 2018/19 before making the transition to step three football when he joined Rushall Olympic the season afterwards. He spent a three year spell with the Pics, picking up managers player of the year in 2021/22.

After his seven month spell with the Glassboys under Leon Broadhurst, he returned to Dales Lane in February 2023 and played an important part for them in their 17 game unbeaten spell as they gained promotion to the National League North for the first ever time. He remained a mainstay in Liam McDonald’s midfield last season as they secured safety at step 2 before announcing his departure from the club recently.

Speaking on his return to the Glassboys, he said “I’m pleased to be back at the club and having spoke to the Gaffa, the project and plans for the season and beyond are exciting so there was no doubt I wanted to be part of it.
I’ve played for Liam for 5 years now so we both know each other and I understand what he expects from me so I’m looking forward to working with him again!”

Welcome back Scholesy!
