The Glassboys were made to work hard for their victory, twice having to fight back after falling a goal behind before we recovered to secure the win. Kicking down the slope at Lye Meadow in the first period, we almost grabbed the lead with just six minutes played, but a clever chip from Kyle Brady from a tight angle was hooked off the line by a home defender. Instead it was the home side who struck first four minutes later. Some neat build-up play down the left saw a somewhat makeshift Glassboys backline carved open and the ball was squared across for Luke Guy to slot past Lewis Solly. The Glassboys struggled at times with the conditions, but still had chances to get back on level terms. On 26 minutes a long goal-kick from Solly was sliced by an Alvechurch defender into the path of Brady whose 30- yard effort flew over, then in the 37th minute Drew Canavan sent in a low free-kick from the left and Brady timed his run well to strike a shot that was well blocked by the keeper. Three minutes later Brady should have scored when Linden Dovey supplied a low centre from the right across the face of the goal, however Brady in the centre clipped his shot the wrong side of the upright. Less than a minute after the re-start however we found an equaliser. A long ball forward from Billingham saw Brady jump with his marker and the ball broke to Ryan Rowe who steadied himself and worked an opening before cracking a low shot past the keeper. Eleven minutes later however we foun ourselves trailing again as sub Ryan Mullins turned past James Dyson to shoot low past Solly. Stourbridge hit back to retore parity in the 66th minute after Sam Rock was tripped in the box and Ben Billingham stepped forward to confidently despatch his spot-kick. Two minutes later a good move ended with Rock slipping the ball through to Brady in the left channel area who fired a low angled shot past the far post. Stourbridge made wholesale changes on 71 minutes before they grabbed what proved to be the winning goal six minutes later. Leon Broadhurst supplied the through ball for Rowe who timed his run to beat the offside trap and although he was half stopped by the keeper as he tried to round him, Rowe recovered to slip the ball into the net. Brady might have made it four later after going clear, however he stumbled as he tried to go past the keeper. Team: Solly, Rock, P. LLoyd, Canavan, Spittle, Dyson, Dovey, Broadhurst, Rowe, Billingham, Brady Subs used: Plinston (for P. LLoyd 71), Whitley (for Spittle 71), D. Jones (for Rock 71 mins), Cooper (for Dyson 71)
